Rafael Beyar Prof. Rafael Beyar Professor Rafael (Rafi) Beyar, President and CEO at Rambam Health Care Campus.   Founded the Heart System Research Center at the Technion where he served as Coordinator and Director. Completed Residency in medicine at Rambam (1983-1985) and a fellowship in cardiology at Johns Hopkins University (1985-1987). He was appointed Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Medicine at the Technion in 1996 and served as Director of the Division of Invasive Cardiology at Rambam. He served as Visiting Professor at Johns Hopkins University for several years. In 1998, he was elected Dean of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion and served for a full term. Beyar’s research and clinical interests range from mathematical simulation to imaging and analysis of the cardiovascular system, as well as the development of stents and new technology in cardiology. He has authored over 150 scientific publications and 11 books, is founder and editor of Acute Cardiac Care Journal which is endorsed by the European Society of Cardiology, and regularly convenes leading professional cardiovascular conferences. Prof. Beyar graduated from the School of Medicine of Tel Aviv University in 1977 (MD), the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering at the Technion in 1983 (DSc),  and the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, in 2008 (MPH).
 osnat levtzion Dr. Osnat Levtzion-Korach Dr. Osnat Levtzion-Korach M.D, M.H.A., Director of the Hadassah University Hospital-Mt. Scopus. Dr. Osnat Levtzion-Korach is a graduate of the Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Medicine and completed residencies in both Pediatrics and Hospital Management at the Hadassah Medical Center, acquiring board certification in both fields. She served as a senior consultant at Boston University’s Program of Management and Variability in Healthcare Delivery and later at Patient Flow Technology, a leader in health care performance improvement, assisting hospitals throughout the United States on optimizing the flow of the patients and the usage of resources. Upon her return to Israel, Dr. Levtzion-Korach was named Deputy Director of Assaf Harofeh Medical Center, where she continued to put into practice her expertise in patient safety, quality of care and improvement of processes. She has authored or co-authored a dozen research studies that have been published in prestigious medical journals.
 Benny Zeevi Dr. Benny Zeevi Dr. Benny Zeevi is a Managing General Partner in DFJ Tamir Fishman Venture and DFJ Tel Aviv Venture Partners and leads the fund Life Science and Cleantech investments. Dr. Zeevi is a physician specialized in interventional pediatric cardiology; from 1990-1998 he was Director of Pediatric Catheterization Unit, Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Israel. Prior to joining DFJ TFV in 2003, Dr. Zeevi was the Vice President Business Development & Medical Director of Card Guard AG since 1998. Dr. Zeevi is the Co- Chairperson of Israel Advanced Technology Industries (IATI). Dr. Zeevi is the Founder and Co Director of an Executive Program for Biotechnology and Medical Device Entrepreneurs and Managers, based on International faculty, at the Faculty of Management of Tel-Aviv University and serves on the advisory board of the Faculty of Management at Tel Aviv University.  Dr. Zeevi was a fellow and a visiting Professor and part-time clinical staff at the Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. His credentials include over 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles, in addition to various chapters in textbooks and invited reviews and editorials in pediatric cardiology journals. Dr. Zeevi holds a M.D. degree (Magna Cum Laude) from the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Israel.
Osnat Luxenburg Dr. Osnat Luxenbourg Dr. Osnat Luxenburg  is the Director of the Medical Technology and Infrastructure Administration  at the Israeli Ministry of Health. In this role since 2001, she is responsible for the regulation and licensing of all medical technologies including – pharmaceuticals, biological products, medical devices, procedures etc.; decision-making on reimbursement at a national level ; regulation of radiation protection in Israel and formulating national health policy. Dr. Luxenburg graduated from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, Medical School in 1991, completing  her  Public  Health  specialization at the Sheba Medical Center in 1996. Dr Luxenburg is also a member of the management of ICTAHC – The Israeli Center for Technology Assessment in Health Care. She has authored various scientific publications in national and international journals and serves as lecturer at the- Graduate School of Business Administration at the Faculty of Management, Tel Aviv University. Dr Luxenburg has both executive national and international ties, working in cooperation with international bodies such as the FDA and EU organizations and  International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in promoting national policy.
 kobi-richter Kobi Richter, PhD Dr. Jacob Richter, also known as Kobi, Founded Medinol Ltd and serves its the Chairman and Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Richter is the Co-Founder of Biorest. Dr. Richter oversees all aspects of Medinol Medical Equipment’s stent technology, research and development, and manufacturing. Prior to Medinol, Dr. Richter Co-founded Orbotech. He served as the Managing Director of Marathon-Capital Development Fund Ltd. from 1992 to 1994 and served as its Director of Marketing of Orbot since January 1992. He was Director of New Product Development of Orbot from January 1990 to 1992 and Director of Product Development of Orbot from 1986 to 1990. Prior to Orbot, he served as Head of Research and Development of the Israeli Air Force. He has been a Director of Orbotech Ltd. since January 1, 2012. He serves as a Director of Arineta Ltd. Dr. Richter served as a Director of Orbotech Ltd., since 1997. He has been a Director of Medinol Ltd., since 1993 and also serves as Director of Medinol Medical Equipment. Dr. Richter served as a Director of Orbotech Ltd., from October 27, 1992 to August 15, 1993. He holds a Doctorate in Neuro Physiology and Brain Research from Tel Aviv University and worked as a Post-Doctoral and Research Fellow at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (‘MIT‘) from 1979 to 1982.
 Uri Rosenchein Prof. Uri Rosenchein Prof. Uri Rosenschein MD, Founder & Chief Medical Consultant, vice dean at Technion School of Medicine and chief of Interventional Cardiology Department, Bnei Tzion hospital. Uri Rosenschein is a world-renowned interventional cardiologist and a pioneer in interventional cardiovascular procedures. Dr. Rosenschein received his medical degree from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from the Kellog-Recanati School of Management. He did fellowship in interventional cardiology in Columbia University and Michigan University. Uri was the Founder of Angiosonics Inc., developing one of the earliest therapeutic applications of ultrasound in interventional cardiovascular medicine. Prof. Rosenschein is the author of over 70 papers and is a highly demanded speaker world-wide.
 Ronen Rozenblum Dr. Ronen Rozenblum Dr. Ronen Rozenblum, Ph.D., MPH, is the co-founder and Director of the Unit for Innovative Healthcare Practice & Technology, at the Center for Patient Safety Research and Practice, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. In this role, he is responsible for establishing and managing a structured, long-term relationship between the research center and the medical industry in order to enhance innovations and improve overall quality and safety of healthcare. Dr. Rozenblum is also a leading health services researcher at Harvard Medical School where he holds a faculty position. He is an internationally recognized expert in the fields of patient-centered care and patient experience. He has conducted numerous studies in various countries, which have been published in leading medical journals. He is a member of national and international committees related to patient experience and is on the medical advisory board of a patient association. Prior to his current position, he taught Health Management and Economics at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and in Tel Aviv University. In addition to his academic pursuits, Rozenblum has been involved in establishing and managing startup companies in the life sciences industry and has considerable experience in business development and management of firms in this industry. Dr. Rozenblum holds a master’s degree in public health and a PhD in business administration in health management and economics. In 2011, he completed a three-year post-doctoral research fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

 Dr David-Israeli Dr. David Israeli Dr. David Israeli is a Venture Partner at Pitango in the life sciences team. Before that he was the director of Business Development and Marketing at Medtronic Ventor Technologies. Later he became the VP of Medical Affairs at Rhythmia Medical (acquired by Boston Scientific) – a medical device company engaged in the development of an advanced 3D mapping system of the heart’s electrical activity.David holds his MD from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Ronen Jaffe Ronen Yaffe Dr Ronen Jaffe studied medicine at the Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the Hadassah Medical Center. He completed a residency in Cardiology at the Carmel Medical Center in Haifa. During his fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at St Michael’s Hospital in Toronto he co-founded Colibri Technologies, a startup developing innovative intravascular imaging devices including 3D IVUS and ICE and a hybrid IVUS and OCT catheter. Back in Israel he founded CardioFlow, a startup which is developing a large bore thrombectomy catheter and a proximal embolic protection device. He is also a consultant to Medivalve, a startup which is developing technology for enhancing the accuracy of TAVI procedures. Dr Jaffe is currently an interventional cardiologist at Carmel Medical Center.
 Yoav Shaked Yoav Shaked

Yoav Shaked is a partner at Squoia Capital since 2011. Yoav is the founder, president, and CEO of YMed, a medical device company that was acquired by C.R. Bard. Prior to YMed, Yoav co-founded a medical device distribution company, and served as a VP of XTechnologies (Guidant Corp). Yoav holds a BA in Biology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

 dr Irit Yaniv Dr. Irit Yaniv Dr. Irit Yaniv is an experienced and accomplished senior executive in the life sciences industry; e.g. medical devices and bio-pharma, with 15 years of progressively increasing responsibilities in this field including successes in managing the product development function (from inception through successful commercial launch), designing and implementing clinical studies and pivotal trials, achieving FDA regulatory approvals both in the forms of PMA and 510K, effectively launching the sales of new products, as well as increasing the sales of existing lines, and performing the foregoing in an ever-changing international marketplace and regulatory environment. Lately, managed international implantable device companies; and currently, involve in few early-stages medical device and bio – pharma companies as a founder, board member or consultant.
 Gera Strommer Gera Strommer Mr. Strommer is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Erodium Medical Ltd., a medical device company developing a breakthrough technology in the field of cardiology. Mr. Strommer has extensive experience in corporate management and entrepreneurship, having co-founded and led MediGuide Ltd., a medical device company, acquired by St. Jude Medical for $300M in December 2008. Under his leadership, MediGuide raised $45 million from VCs and strategic partners, and signed cooperation and partnership agreements with leading companies in the medical arena. Beside his management skills, Mr. Strommer also has a strong technical background with over 50 patents and patent applications co-registered to his name. Mr. Strommer holds an M.Sc in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from the Technion.
 Ehud Dafni Ehud Dafni Dr. Ehud Dafni, founder and CEO, Arineta Ltd. Dr.Dafni  has a strong background in medical imaging, especially in computed tomography, where he is co-inventor of multi-slice spiral CT, the standard CT technology used worldwide. Before founding Arineta, Dr. Dafni served as vice president for business development at CMT Medical Technologies and CEO of CardioWatch Ltd. Previously he was at Philips Medical Systems in Israel and the US, at Picker International/Marconi Medical Systems, Cleveland, Ohio, and at Elscint Ltd., Haifa, Israel. Earlier he was a faculty member at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel. Dr. Dafni holds a PhD in nuclear physics, from the State University of New York, Stony Brook, NY, and a BSc in physics, mathematics, and computer science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
 Edit Goldberg Edit Goldberg Edit Goldberg, D.M.D., VP New Ventures, Trendlines Medical (Misgav Venture Accelerator). Edit brings over 13 years of senior management experience from her work at biosurgical and immune-therapeutics companies Omrix, Johnson & Johnson, and LifeBond, a start-up company, where she was VP strategic marketing. Prior to joining Omrix, Edit was a dentist in private practice. Edit holds an MBA from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzilya and a DMD from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
 Ishay Attar Ishay Attar Ishay serves as Respinova’s CEO, a company developing a novel non-invasive treatment modality for COPD. Prior to Respinova Ishay founded LifeBond, a company developing surgical sealants and hemostats and served as it’s CEO for six years, until 2012. During his tenor he raised $33M from VCs and Corporate (J&J). Before that Ishay served as VP of Business Development at Misgav Venture Accelerator where he recruited and fostered the growth of 16 early stage companies. Ishay’s business expertise together with his scientific background helped these companies formulate successful strategies for value creation from initial start-up stage through ensuing rounds of investment. Ishay holds a B.Sc. in Biotechnology Engineering, M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering and MBA, cum laude, from Technion. Other life science companies that Ishay co-founded Neuroquest Ltd, which is developing a biomarker kit for neurodegenerative diseases and Seraffix developing a laser system to close surgical wounds.

 Mor Peleg Mor Peleg Mor Peleg is Assoc. Prof at the Dept. of Information Systems, University of Haifa, Israel, since 2003, and has been Department Head in 2009-2012. Her BSc and MSc in Biology and PhD in Information Systems are from the Technion, Israel. She spent 6 years at Stanford BioMedical Research during her post-doctoral studies and Sabbatical. She was awarded the New Investigator Award by the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA). Her research concerns knowledge representation, decision support systems, and process-aware information systems in healthcare. She is the coordinator of the FP7-ICT large-scale project MobiGuide. She has edited a number of special issues related to process support in healthcare and artificial intelligence in medicine. Mor has served in program committees of numerous conferences, including, among others, AI in Medicine (Where she chaired the scientific PC in 2011), Medinfo, ER. She has been co-chair of the BPM ProHealth Workshop six times and an organizing committee member of Knowledge Representation for Healthcare Workshop five times. She is a member of the editorial board of Journal of BioMedical Informatics and Methods of Information in Medicine.

Ofer is also the founder Startup Factory, a partnership formed by a group of Israeli industry and technology leaders who came together to invest, promote and cultivate brilliant ideas and entrepreneurs. Ofer holds a MA (Cum Laude) in Electrical Engineering from the Technion Institute of Technology in Haifa and a BA in Clinical Psychology from the Haifa University.
Gideon Mantel Gideon Mantel Gideon Mantel, co-founder and Executive Chairman of TreatO. With two decades of experience in an industry built on large scale data, Gideon envisioned how big data technology could impact the healthcare domain, the last Internet frontier. His track record as an entrepreneur enabled him to turn this abstract concept into a reality. Prior to Treato, Gideon co-founded Commtouch Ltd. and was on the executive team for 20 years. As chairman and CEO, Gideon successfully led Commtouch to the leadership position in the outsourced global email and messaging services industry. Before Commtouch, Gideon was co-founder and CEO of Financial Leverages Ltd. and also served as the CFO of the Gali Group, one of Israel’s largest consumer product companies. Eyal Lifshitz Eyal Lifshitz Mr. Eyal Lifschitz is the CEO, General Partner and a Co-Founder of Peregrine Ventures. Eyal serves on behalf of Peregrine Ventures on the Boards of Valtech Cardio Ltd, NLT Spine Ltd., CadioNova Ltd. ect. Prior to founding Peregrine Ventures, Eyal co-founded numerous medical technology companies including: 1990 to 1994. Director of Business Development, PharmaSys (acquired by Elan Corp. Ben Reis Ben Reis, PhD Dr. Reis is Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School, where his group works to realize the vision of predictive medicine. Dr. Reis received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge as a Marshall Scholar, where he researched the prediction of musical sequences and the learning of musical styles. He completed his postdoctoral training at Harvard Medcal School as an NIH Fellow in Health Informatics, researching the dynamics of genetic expression networks. Since joining the faculty, he has conducted pioneering work in public health surveillance, pharmacovigilance, clinical risk prediction and social-network based health promotion. Dr. Reis has advised the White House, the U.S. Congress, the HHS and the CDC on establishing national public health surveillance systems, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Hellenic CDC on preparing for the 2004 and 2008 Olympics, and the Hong Kong Center for Health Protection in the wake of the S.A.R.S. epidemic. His research has been reported broadly, including in Nature, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. Before joining the faculty, Dr. Reis worked as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company, and as a manager at the Markle Foundation’s Health and Technology program.
Efranet_site_Final Uri Yogev Uri Yogev is the CEO of Efranat. Prior to joining Efranat, Uri was the founder and CEO of Life Technologies Israel (formerly Ethrog Biotechnology) from its inception in 1993 until 2007. While serving as Ethrog’s CEO, he conducted numerous development programs that yielded more than 60 different products in the Bio Research industry. He obtained an exclusive distribution agreement with Invitrogen Corp. (1996) and later led the acquisition of Ethrog by Invitrogen (today: Life Technology Nasdaq: LIFE). Uri designed and constructed a tailored and unique production facility and led the company to double digits $M in revenues with substantial profits. Uri holds a BSc. in Life Sciences from the Tel Aviv University, Israel and an MBA from Northwestern University, IL and Tel Aviv University, Israel in the Kellogg Recanati program.

During this period, Mr. Kraft led R&D, business development, process improvement, and customer support activities of various products. Mr. Kraft served as a Captain in the IDF for 7 years, in technological and leadership positions, developing military systems with DOD firms. Mr. Kraft holds an M.B.A. and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
 Orly Tamir Orly Tamir Dr. Orly Tamir is the Director of ‘Otzma’ Diabetes Care initiative, and is a senior researcher currently at the Center for Patient Safety Research and Practice at Brigham and Womens’ Hospital in Boston, USA. Dr. Tamir has vast experience in initiation and management of scientific schemes oriented towards unmet needs in specific medical fields as well as on conceptual health concerns. During her career as a health technology assessor for Maccabi Healthcare Services, later as a senior researcher at the Israeli Center for Technology Assessment in Health Care, she focused on health technology assessment and forecast. Among the topics of her specialty is technology appraisal at each of the various phases throughout the life cycle of a technology and from the different perspectives. Dr. Tamir’s scientific activities and domains of interest are related to applied and methodological research in the fields of health policy, healthcare management, and the multifaceted basis for prioritization and decision-making. She has been awarded various research grants, authored numerous scientific publications in national and international journals and serves as lecturer on the introduction of emerging technologies. Dr. Tamir received her BSc and MSc degrees in Life Sciences from the Tel-Aviv University, her MHA degree in Health Policy and Administration from the Ben-Gurion University, and her PhD in Medical Sciences from the Tel-Aviv University.

Dr. Eyal Bercovich is the first graduate of the Medicine\Biomedical engineering joint program at the Technion.
Eyal is also Co-founder and CTO of Gynamics Ltd.
 Carmel Rotschild Carmel Rotschild Assist. Prof. Carmel Rotschild Scientific Director and Founder at RealView imaging. Dr. Rotschild is a leading scientist and an expert in optical physics and optical engineering, with substantial industry and academic experience. For over 15 years, Dr. Rotschild has gained meaningful hands-on experience in the design and development of highly sophisticated optical systems. He has earned both his B.Sc. in Optical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Optical Physics from the Technion, and has completed his post-doc at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Along his academic career, he has gained some of the most prestigious awards for young researchers, such as the Fulbright Scholarship. Dr. Rotschild is currently a faculty member at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and is leading the Optical Engineering studies at the Mechanical Engineering department.
 Oren Zarchin Profile Pic Oren Zarchin Dr. Oren Zarchin, Director of Spectral CT and Detectors Lab at Philips Healthcare. Dr. Zarchin is responsible for development activities leading to future CT products, mainly through advanced solutions for x-ray detection systems.  In addition to a strong management and leadership experience, Oren brings technical expertise in medical imaging, radiation and particle detection, semiconductors, nano-technology, plasma physics and data acquisition. Dr. Zarchin held several positions  prior to joining Philips including R&D manager at El-Mul technologies, a detection and nano-technology oriented company, and served as a part time lecturer at Ruppin academic center, teaching SW and data acquisition. Dr. Zarchin holds a PhD in solid state physics from the Weizmann institute of Science and an M.Sc. in Physics and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Physics from Tel-Aviv university.
Tamir Wolf Dr. Tamir Wolf Dr. Wolf is co-founder and CEO of an “under-the radar” medical device company and is a part of the Accelmed team – a boutique investment firm specializing in medical devices. Tamir’s professional career began in Israel’s Naval Special Warfare unit. It was there he became fascinated with the interrelationship between technological innovation and patient care. Drawn to “calculated-risk” entrepreneurial  positions, Tamir has since filled various roles in medical device start-ups in the space of minimally invasive surgery, cardiology, and most recently metabolic disease. Tamir has authored and co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed articles in the fields of cardiovascular physiology, cardiothoracic surgery, ENT, anesthesiology and neurosurgery and is dedicated to remaining at the cutting-edge forefront of health technology by identifying innovative solutions to unmet needs. A decorated special-ops physician, Tamir earned his MD and PhD at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology and an executive MBA at Harvard Business School‘s General Management Program.
 Raanan Gewirtzman Raanan Gewirtzman Raanan Gewirtzman is business executive with 30 years of management experience of  international semiconductor and software companies.  Raanan was CEO at BroadLight (acquired by Broadcom for more than $200M), VP of IC Design at Virata (merged with Globespan) and served in Senior Management position at IBM Research. In 2009 while serving at BroadLight,  Raanan was named as CEO of the Year – Israeli Hi-Tech Companies. Raanan owns several patents in processor design and verification. He graduated the Technion BSc Computer Eng and MSc Electrical Eng.
